2010 CITY PROJECTS IN PROGRESS
AVENUE D PROJECT:
TRAFFIC DELAYS CAN BE EXPECTED
The Avenue D renovation project is split into three phases:

The replacement of concrete water lines with new PVC main lines and all new service connections. This project was contracted with Gonzalez Construction Company. The project began in March, 2009 and is complete.

The rehabilitation of sanitary sewer lines from George Bush Dr. south to First Street. This project is complete.

The removal of current asphalt surface and replace with concrete. Concrete resurfacing began in January of 2010 and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2010.
KATY FIRE DEPARTMENT
The renovation and expansion of the Katy Fire Station at 1417 Avenue D is under way. The contractor, Drymalla Construction, began work in September of 2009. The project consists of the following:

Addition of a new fueling station

Addition of a new three bay apparatus building

Replacing all concrete in rear staging area
-
Conversion of old storage building into health center
-
Extension of third floor for addition of dorm rooms
-
Replacement of concrete in front of existing bays
-
Replacing old sign in front of station
-
Re-plumbing of existing building
-
New building generator
2010 STREET & WATER PROJECT:
TRAFFIC DELAYS CAN BE EXPECTED
This project will be located on the two south bound lanes of Pin Oak Dr. from the west bound feeder road north approximately 800 feet north and will consist of the following:
-
Remove existing concrete street and replace with new concrete
-
Move existing water line currently located under the street and locate the new water line behind the curb of the new street section
