BUILDING AND/OR PLUMBING INSPECTOR/CODE ENFORCEMENT
The City of Katy is currently accepting applications for the position of Building and/or Plumbing Inspector/Code Enforcement. This position includes the inspection of construction work on all buildings and structures to assure compliance with building and/or plumbing codes, zoning and local ordinances; provides instructions over the phone and in person on the application and intent of code requirements to both residential and commercial projects; reviews blueprints on construction sites; and records results of inspections for permanent records.
Preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of the principles and practices in building, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical construction; ability to read blueprints and interpret code requirements; and must be able to proficiently operate a personal computer and standard office equipment.
Requirements: Valid Texas drivers license and a good driving record; high school diploma or equivalent; minimum five (5) years of experience in plumbing and/or building construction. Prefer International Building Code Certification, State of Texas Plumbing License and/or Code Enforcement Certification. If not, must possess or obtain International Building Code and Code Enforcement within one (1) year of date of hire. Salary commensurate with certifications and/or licenses.

COMPUTER SYSTEMS ASSISTANT
The Computer Systems Assistant will be responsible for installation, setup and maintenance for all networks, computers (PC’s, MDT’s, and AS400) and other software for the Police Department. Provide support and training for all users of these systems. Perform other work-related functions as required and be on call in the event of breakdowns or other emergencies. Applicant must have an Associate Degree in computer science or equivalent technical education and work related experience equivalent to an Associate Degree. Three years experience within a Computer Operations environment is also required.
Salary: $48,024 – $49,440 annually, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits offered.
