Customer Portal for Water Usage
The City of Katy’s FlexNet Water Meter System now gives customers access to their water usage through the customer web portal. Residents have the ability to track daily water usage to manage and reduce costs associated with your water bill. Click here to log in and create a username (your email address) and password to have a secure account that can be accessed on your laptop, tablet or mobile device. A Customer Service Rep can help you through the portal and explain the available data. The portal can be set up in either English or Spanish.
The portal shows usage down to the gallon, however, the City bills in thousands. So, you may use 3,995 gallons in a billing cycle which means you will be billed for 3,000 gallons and this would show on your bill as 3.
Setting Up Alerts
- Daily Usage Alert – receive alerts when you are using more water than you specify in a day
- Billing Cycle Usage Alert – lets you know when you are using more water in a 30 day billing cycle
- Vacation Alert – lets you know when water usage has occurred at your home on the days you are away (when setting up this alert, please allow for water flow from ice makers, water softeners or irrigation systems).
Abnormally High Water Bill?
Most customers only notice a leak when the bill amount increases significantly. Because readings are now available daily, you don’t have to wait until you receive the bill to realize you have an increase in usage. If this happens, the customer portal can show when the usage has occurred. The graph may show a continuous increase each day which could mean a leaking toilet or water pipe. If the graph shows a spike in usage for a short period, it could be a water hose left running or filling a pool. If you have an automatic irrigation system, you will see the increased usage on the days you have programmed for watering.

To have a City Technician turn off water at the meter for repairs, please call 281.391.4820, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. For after hour emergencies, call 281.391.4848 and a Technician will be dispatched. Please note, most homes have a customer shut-off valve located where the water line comes into the home.
