IMPORTANT INFO AS OF 9/4 @ 2 PM

After evaluation of City Hall and the scope of work that has to be done after the flooding during Hurricane Harvey, it has been decided that City Hall will be open to the public but only for utility billing and park rentals. The public will only be able to enter City Hall from the doors facing Avenue D. Our JACK payment system is NOT operational – all customers will have to come inside to pay their water bill. City Hall’s hours of operation will be from 8 AM to 5 PM. For utility billing questions, call 281-391-4801.

The permit department will be open but will be working out of the Municipal Court building located at 5432 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77493. When you enter the court building, courts will be to the right, permits will be to the left. Please note the signage at both City Hall and Municipal Court to help guide you where you need to go. If you had any water in your home from Hurricane Harvey, there will be a no fee permit application. Everyone affected MUST fill out this permit application (CLICK HERE). We ask that you bring this completed application to our Permit Department at the courts building, and we will walk you through the process. We are here to guide you every step of the way! Permits Department’s hours of operation will be from 7 AM to 5 PM. Please call 281-391-4830 or email harveypermits@cityofkaty.com if you have any permit or inspection questions.

Debris removal will begin tomorrow. There will be multiple trucks working from dawn to dusk moving debris out of the city. Republic Waste will be on schedule for household trash this week. A separate contractor – not Republic Waste – will be picking up flood debris. We are asking residents to please move their blue bins of household trash away from debris piles so that Republic Waste can empty their trash cans. If you live on a short cul-de-sac, please bring your blue bins up the street so the Republic Waste garage truck can get to them. Recycling is still on hold, and we will notify everyone once the service is reestablished.

Our curfew is still in place from 10 PM to 6 AM, and will remain until notified. We are asking everyone to please stay informed via our website and Official City of Katy facebook page. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this recovery process. The City of Katy is doing everything we can to help our citizens. We are here for you!

THANK YOU!
