Garbage Contract Includes Recycling
REMINDERS –
Garbage pick-up is for blue lid carts only. PERSONAL CANS SHOULD NOT BE USED.
If carts are placed in the street, wheels should be against the curb and lid opening facing the street.
Do not put carts next to anything (i.e., mailbox or cars), you must leave room for the automated truck arms to pick up the carts.
Bagged yard waste/bundled limbs/heavy trash will be picked up by a separate truck each week.
Recycling pick-up (carts with green lids) is the first and third Thursday of each month.
The City of Katy contracts with Republic Services for automated collection of garbage and recycling program. Garbage collection is once a week for household garbage/bulk waste collection and twice monthly for recycling. Each household will receive a 95-gallon cart as well as a 95-gallon recycling cart. Previously, residents were paying $12.69 for garbage and heavy trash. The new contract rate will be $13.52 (effective 5/1/2013) for residential pick up of garbage, heavy trash and recycling.

After the recycling carts are delivered and RecycleBank has processed the City’s cart information, customers will be notified that they can register for the RecycleBank Rewards Program.
